Selena: The Series

Selena is a timeless icon with dedicated fans that know her well. To launch the much-anticipated Selena: The Series, we tailored our content to generate conversation around the unseen aspects of her life. Using a mix of new and archival media, we celebrated the Queen of Tejano across social channels.Our cadence reimagined what Selena would post if she were on tour today. We also leveraged cast members, celebrities, and UGC content as channels to drive excitement. Giving die-hard fans something new to discover, while introducing Selena's enduring impact to new fans of all ages.
Story Template: Selena's music spanned across many genres. To get everyone hyped, we encouraged fans to share the best Selena songs by occasion, and tag their friends.
Infomercial: We revisited Selena’s nostalgic infomercials from the 90’s to promote the story themes of Love, Family and Music in Selena the Series. We reimagined the 1-800 number so fans could get free sticker packs and original content via Whatsapp chat.
Ticket generator: To build anticipation for the release of the trailer, we designed personalized ticket stubs based on vintage Selena concert tickets so fans could “show up”. Over 13,000 custom tickets were generated in a span of a few hours.
Tex-Mex Reels: Selena The Series is filled with nuanced moments. In Tex-Mex Reels, we dive deeper into these interesting, Selena-related Tejano histories. By using vintage artifacts like tapes and View-Masters, we recreated the experience that would feel familiar to Selena.
Behind the Scenes with: To get a true look at the series through the eyes of the cast members, we asked them to share the pictures and videos that were taken on their personal phones, and shared them with our fans.
Spanish Struggle: Many Latines in the U.S. have a complex relationship with Spanish. Selena was no different. In this video, Christian Serratos speaks on her language struggles, how she relates to Selena’s Mexican-American upbringing, and how embracing imperfection is empowering.

Tik Tok Challenge: Our #TodosComoLaFlor Tik Tok Challenge had everyone dancing, literally breaking the world record for most uploads of lip sync videos of the same song in an hour.
Meet the Cast
Picture’s Up: an episodic series allowed fans to jump behind the camera and discover what happens in the moments right before we started shooting some of their favorite scenes.
